REBORN FRIENDSHIP

Childhood friends Bart Reijn and Maarten van den Born are the driving force behind Reborn Yachts. With decades of combined experience in the marine industry, both founders have built their careers around a shared passion for yachts, craftsmanship and life on the water.

Maarten brings extensive expertise in yacht building, while Bart built and successfully ran his own watersports company. In 2010, Maarten joined Bart, marking the beginning of a partnership that has continued to grow and evolve.

Together, they have built a strong foundation in the marine industry, combining hands-on experience, entrepreneurial spirit and a deep understanding of what discerning yacht owners expect. Today, that experience forms the foundation of Reborn Yachts: a brand driven by craftsmanship, innovation and a personal approach to yacht building.

Meet the Designers.

Weel Sluijter is an Amsterdam-based design studio, specialised in the exterior design of superyachts. Founded in 2024 by Bernd Weel and Jim Sluijter, the studio combines over two decades of experience and a portfolio of delivered yachts from renowned shipyards.

The studio’s design philosophy is functional elegance, and its principals are rooted in close collaboration, ensuring each project reflects the client’s individual taste and lifestyle. Their work strikes a balance between form and function — aligning design principles with real-world constraints and possibilities. They collaborate closely with our clients throughout the entire process, ensuring that every space is shaped not only by vision but by intention.

ABOUT REBORN

The ambition was always to set up their own boat brand, however, and in 2018 they took the plunge by starting Reborn Yachts. Assembling an experienced team of professionals, including Sea Level Naval Architects, Bernd Weel Design, Nedcam and Adel Polyester, they started working towards their ultimate goal. By mid-2020 the plugs and moulds were ready and by the end of the year the first hull was under construction. The first yacht was launched in the summer of 2021: The Reborn Cabin 38. Followed by the other members of the exciting Reborn fleet.
